MG India has launched its new 2024 Windsor EV, bookings to open on October 3
MG has finally launched its brand new Windsor EV in India with a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This EV is MG’s first offering after the JSW partnership and the company’s 3rd electric car in the Indian auto market after the ZS EV and the Comet.
Unlike its other offering, MG has offered its new Windsor EV with a new BaaS model. Booking for the car will open on October 3 while the deliveries will begin on October 12. Let’s talk about the car’s interior and exterior design and how the company will offer its new electric car in India.
MG’s new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Model
MG launched its new 2024 Windsor EV with a unique ‘Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)’ model where the buyers have to pay for the car, while the automaker will offer its battery on rent.
The new Windsor EVs will have to pay Rs. 3/Km for the car’s battery depending on how much they’ll drive the EV in a month. The customers can also buy the car fully by paying an additional amount of around Rs. 15 Lakhs.
Design & Colour options
The Windsor offers an MPV stance while the company will offer the car as a CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle), and can accommodate upto 5 passengers. It offers loads of room inside with its born EV skateboard platform, giving it a majestic appeal inside, giving it the appearance of a larger hatchback. It offers a minimalistic design with compact appeal, clean surfaces, a connected LED DRL bar (both front and rear) with LED-base projector headlamps and LED taillights, flush door handles, and more.
The car features a large glasshouse design with extended quarter glass sections and steeply raked front and rear windscreens. The exterior also features chrome accents around the windows, bumpers, and door sills. The new Windsor EV is available in 3 exciting trims – Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. It is available in 4 colour options including new Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.
Interior and Features
The new MG Windsor EV takes the minimalism inside, offering a black interior with bold copper accents that make it appealing and refreshing considering the amount of space it offers. The car features a black and copper-themed dashboard with an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display and a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also sports ventilated front seats with aero lounge functionality and a 135-degree recline angle.
The MG Windsor offers plenty of room for the passengers in both front and rear seats. Taking advantage of its dedicated EV platform offers a large floating centre console with more room for any kind of storage needs. More features include Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wireless charging, a 9-speaker system, a Panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, and more.
Performance, Battery & Charging
The new Windsor EV packs a large 38-kWh LFP battery with new cell technology helping it to deliver a driving range of up to 331 Km on a single charge. The battery powers its single front electric motor which produces 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque.
The car also offers 4 driving modes – Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. It also offers 45kW fast charging ability and can charge from 0-80% in just 55 minutes. MG will also provide 3.3kW and 7.7kW home AC chargers that take 14 hours and 6.5 hours to charge fully.

As for the battery warranty, MG will offer a lifetime warranty for the car’s battery with unlimited kilometres for first-time car buyers. The automaker is also offering free public charging via the company’s vast charging network for the first year.
