Mahindra is all set to launch its brand-new electric coupe SUV, under its XUV.e lineup, the new XUV.e9
Mahindra is gearing up to launch its new series of electric cars for the Indian auto market starting with the new Mahindra XUV.e9. Mahindra’s new ‘Born Electric’ EV will offer a brand-new flagship experience from the company’s best-in-class engineering and tech, combined to offer the smooth driving experience in any Mahindra car ever sold.
Recently, the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e9 was spotted testing near a Tata Dealership in Bhubaneswar, offering a brief look at the car’s exterior and interior. The Spy image revealed the company’s test mule, which had three large touchscreen displays, a luxurious cabin that indicated its cutting-edge technology, and a comfortable interior similar to the XUV700.
Features
The upcoming XUV.e9 will pack several new features such as a new exterior with its coupe-styled body, stacked headlights, LED DRL, and new 20-inch alloy wheels. The EV will offer several popular features such as a panoramic sunroof, Level @ ADAS, premium finishes, OTA updates, and more. Mahindra has also been at the forefront of offering incredible safety on its cars, so the new XUV.e9 will offer standard 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, TPMS, EBS, and more for enhanced safety.
Performance & Range
The new Mahindra XUV.e9 will use the brand’s INGLO platform and will come with new Blade and Prismatic battery options, capable of delivering a driving range of up to 450 km on a single charge. The electric coupe SUV will also offer ultra-fast charging capabilities that can charge it from 0 to 80% in 30 minutes with a 175 kW charger. Performance-wise, the car will be powered by a rear-wheel drive electric motor, making 285 PS and an optional all-wheel drive system with two electric motors, producing 394 PS of power.
India Launch & Price
The XUV.e9 will be a premium version of the XUV.e8 and is scheduled for India launch in April 2025. Mahindra also plans to launch two more electric cars in April 2025 with its new BE.05 lineup which will debut in October 2025.
The XUV.e9 will cost around Rs. 45 to Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The upcoming XUV.e9 doesn’t have direct competitors but the e-SUV will face competition from upcoming EVs such as the Tata Harrier EV and the Hyundai Creta EV.
